Moar Steampunk!Seven

Steampunk!Seven hasn't eaten my brain, but it is fun to write. So this? was inspired by [personal profile] van's comment. *waggles eyebrows* Plus, this one is longish for a ficlet so I'm dubbing it with a title, courtesy of a very appropriate song by Sugarland

Title: An Incredible Machine
Characters/Pairing: Buck; Chris/Ezra (natch)
Rating: Adult (also natch)
Notes/Warnings: The events here follow on directly from this ficlet.
Summary: Made of blood and love and hope and lust and steam...

An Incredible Machine )

Enjoy!

GLEE

The nifty new banner in my DW? Is courtesy of [personal profile] van, because she is awesome and generous and really, there aren't enough superlatives in the world to describe her. Thank you so much, sweetie. I've already told you how much I love it, but in case you were in any doubt, I LOVE IT SO MUCH, I can't even tell you.

[Banner will be making appearance on LJ as soon as I update my style...]

Appropriate Aussie and Hearts

Today (well, okay, technically for her it's yesterday now) is the birthday of one of my most favorite people in the whole world.

But I'm still wishing my dearest [personal profile] quillaninc the happiest of happiest birthdays. *hugs Quill tight* Hope it's a fabulous one, darl!

Steampunk!Seven ficlets

Yes, that's right, ficletS. Since I've written some that I haven't posted, I decided that with tonight's new one I should post them all together.

The first is a request that [personal profile] todeskun made of me in chat one night, but the others are unsolicited.

Josiah, a bell jar, and his many attempts to capture lightning )

Josiah and the robot horses )

Vin and JD after the gun test )

Enjoy!

100 words per day X 365 days is...

36500 words. In some ways, that's a lot. Taken all at once, that's almost a novel. It's definitely a novella. It's several short stories of varying lengths.

Taken day by day, 100 words isn't a lot at all. It's a drabble (leaving aside for a moment how difficult drabbles can be to craft).

But it's a great symbol, regardless. 100 words? Every day? Yeah, I can do that!

So January of 2011, I resolved to write 100 words of Mag7 fic every day.

I'm going to say right up front that I didn't write every day. There were days when I didn't have time, or when I was too stressed by other events to really devote time and thought to the boys. But, to make up for it, I had to pick up the slack the following day, so 100 words became 200. While I was on vacation in CA, or had lots of things going on all at once, it became 300. But that only happened a couple of times, because, as the year wore on, I found that I wanted to make that 100 word goal. I wanted to take that time to write, and while there were times it became a little wearing, for the most part, I'm as eager to write those words now as I was at the beginning of the year. (I attribute that in part to the lovely, lovely subject matter. Mmmm.)

So, how did I do?

Words, words... oh, wait. Numbers, numbers, numbers... )

Yay for community imports!

Just a quick note for anyone who's interested - I am in the process of importing [livejournal.com profile] carrot_and_fic to DW. Of course, it's [community profile] carrot_and_fic here, too.

I'll update this entry when all the entries and comments have moved through the importer queue. As might be expected, there's lots of users bringing their comms over from LJ, so the queue is... queued up. ^^

I figured that since many of us are using DW more nowadays, it might make sense to have it here, too, even though it hasn't been posted to in nearly 2 years. *cough* Also? Since everyone who's posted to the comm is on my f-list, I'm just going to put it here: If you don't want your entries to be here, please let me know? I'll delete them as soon as the import has finished. But just so you know, the importer keeps the same entry status as the entry had on the original service.

Dude. Dreamwidth rocks.

ETA: So the import finished about 12 hours ago, i.e., not too long after I decided it wasn't going to finish until today. Of course. Everything seems to be in its proper place, so yay! We're open for business again! ... So to speak.

[fic] Hands Off!; Morning Light

Manga fic! This is the reason I was re-reading Hands Off! while [personal profile] indiw and [personal profile] mendax were visiting. Not sure it helped much, but it sure was fun to revisit. :D

Title: Morning Light
Characters/Pairing: Tatuski/Kotarou
Rating: Adult, baby.
Notes/Warnings: For [personal profile] indiw, Mistress of Plotbunnies, who gave me the prompt "Hands Off! Tatsuki and male character of your choice.  Post-manga fluffy porn because he doesn’t get enough fluff in his life.  Word – light." I hope you like it, my dear!
Summary: Tatsuki doesn't like getting up in the morning. Kinda.

Disclaimer: The characters herein belong to Kasane Katsumoto.  Not mine, no money.

[fic] Mag7; In the Wake of Anticipation

I... have no introductory blather to share. Huh. Amazing. Onward to the fic!

Title: In the Wake of Anticipation
Characters/Pairing: Vin; Chris, Ezra; Buck with cameos by Nathan and Inez. And yes, there's a pairing in there. *grin*
Rating: PG-13 to R. Ish.
Notes/Warnings: For my dearest [personal profile] mendax, who gave me the prompt “The time Vin essentially told them to get a room.” I hope it suits, sweetie! This is a companion fic to Anticipation, hence the title.
Summary: Vin is feeling the tension... he's just not sure why...

Disclaimer: Not mine, no money.

*hums*

Just another couple of [community profile] fic_promptly ficlets.

I have an unintentional theme here - unintentional because I don't seem to have posted the first ficlet here in my journal. If I did, I can't find it. I know you've all seen it before, though, so no worries. But obvious theme is obvious.

Fandom: Magnificent Seven
Characters/Pairing: Chris, Vin, Ezra, Buck, some OCs; Chris/Ezra, JD/Casey, with Josiah and Buck
Rating: PG-13 for some... suggestion, but no more.
Notes/Warnings: Nil.

Disclaimer: All recognizable characters belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy.

[fic] Mag7; Hung Out to Dry

Because [personal profile] mendax said I had to post it.

Title: Hung Out to Dry
Characters/Pairing: Chris/Ezra
Rating: Adult
Notes/Warning: Inspired by [personal profile] mendax's research that she shared with me one night, and her image of Chris, which shorted out my brain when she shared that. A bit of kink that'll be obvious.
Summary: Chris doesn't have any clean shirts to wear. Time to do some washing...

Disclaimer: The boys belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy.  I just like playing.

Some of the fruits of vacation...

So I've got a few [community profile] fic_promptly fills that I've put up in the not-too-distant past...

Fandom: Magnificent Seven (natch)
Grouped under: The Spurs of the Badlands
Characters/Pairing: Ezra and JD; Chris/Ezra
Rating: PG for the first one; Adult-ish for the second
Notes/Warnings: Two unrelated prompts that I've connected in my head.
Summary: With a grouping like The Spurs of the Badlands, you need a summary?

Disclaimer: They all belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy, not me. Woes.

Ficlet 1 )

Ficlet 2 )

And, shockingly enough, a non-Mag7 fill. *gasp*

Fandom: PotC
Characters: James Norrington
Rating: Strong R (for one certain image, mostly...)
Notes/Warnings: Spoilers for At World's End

Disclaimer: They sail under the flag of the Mouse. Not mine, no money.

[fic] Mag7; The Game

I read this prompt aloud while perusing [community profile] fic_promptly in the hotel room. [personal profile] indiw and [personal profile] mendax were listening, and they demanded strongly suggested that I write it. Since it sprawled all over about nine pages, I decided to post it here.

Title: The Game
Characters/Pairing: Chris/Ezra (natch), with appearances by JD, Buck, Nathan, Josiah and Vin.
Rating: Adult (woo!)
Notes/Warnings: Written in a damn hurry; please to let me know about any typos/weirdness.
Summary: Ezra isn't sure what game Chris is playing, but he does kind of like it.

Disclaimer: They belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy; not mine, no money.

My woes are not very woeful.

First: OMGSQUEEEEE!!!! In significantly less than a day (*iz too excited for maths*), [personal profile] indiw and [personal profile] mendax will be arriving in Worcester! I am finding it difficult in the extreme to wait. Days upon days of squee and writing and fun and food and omg, WHEN WILL IT BE TIME?!

In comparison, my woes are minor. I may have to hang up my apron, though. (Or I would if I actually wore one.) I fear none of my baked goods are coming out as they should. My chocolate covered cherries did not set the way they should (I have cherries covered in chocolate, but the liquidy bit? Yeah. That didn't work out at all). The apple pie I baked tonight smells good, and when I took it out of the oven, it looked good, too. When I went out to put my supper dish in the sink, however, it looked like a major earthquake had rocked it - a huge section of the crust had cracked and fallen in along the edge. (I may have stretched the top crust when putting it on, but I didn't think I had... very puzzled.)

The combination makes me wary of making the brownies of minty goodness tomorrow. I've made apple pies before, I've made chocolate covered cherries before and yet this time, they haven't come out quite right... what is going to happen with this recipe I've never made before? I'll still give it a go. If they turn out completely inedible, well, I do still have homemade peanut butter and chocolate sauces (which are edible, thank goodness), and the grocery store has angel food cake and ice cream.

But right now, I think I'm going to go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be EXCELLENT and I want it to get here soonest!

Collab fic! Or, Shameless self-indulgence ahoy!

[personal profile] mendax and I, in her own words, probably ought not be allowed out. But we certainly have lots of fun, especially when we're as self-indulgent as we are here.

Since [personal profile] mendax came up with the (awesome!) title, I said I would post. Therefore, any mistakes you find are probably mine.

"Titania waked..." (5089 words) by faviconMendax, faviconrandi2204
Fandom: Magnificent Seven (TV)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationship: Surprise
Characters: Vin Tanner, Chris Larabee, Buck Wilmington, J. D. Dunne, Nathan Jackson, Josiah Sanchez, Ezra Standish
Summary: Vin notices something for the first time. Matters progress.

Enjoy!

We will conveniently ignore SEVENTY YEARS...

So yesterday, because Jer is a mega-Marvel fan, we went to see Captain America. (Can I just say? Chris Evans? UNH.)

Today, I read aaaaalll kinds of Steve/insert-Stark-of-your-choice-here fic. ^^;;

Also: yesterday, my brain immediately decided that Howard was Tony's grandfather, and it won't budge from that. I mean, really. Howard is between 25 and 30 in 1942. In the first Iron Man movie, Tony is between 30 and 40 - call it 35. It's about 65 years or so between events depicted in Captain America and Iron Man. To me, it just makes sense to insert another generation there. (But I did read up today about Tony Stark and his "dad" Howard, and whoa. Talk about dysfunction.) I'd like to see how Marvel tackles this discrepancy in ages in The Avengers or Iron Man 3. Or if they'll conveniently ignore it.

And I'm not even really a Marvel comic fan; it's just... my "continuity, schmontinuity" meter was engaged. Oh, Marvel.

Post of many icons

So. *cough* I've kind of been making icons. As in, there is a truly obscene number of Mag7 icons behind the cut, from a variety of episodes.

How many icons...? )

And the post-athon continues...

... this time with some more [community profile] fic_promptly fills. These, however, are of a much more light-hearted bent than the previous postings.

Fandom: Magnificent Seven (natch!)
Characters/Pairing(s): Josiah/'x', Buck/'x' (really, that should be Buck/'x', 'x', 'x', 'x'), Chris/Ezra
Rating: Well, considering two of them are filling "bad!sex" prompts from a couple months ago... probably safe to say R.
Notes/Warnings: Blasphemy, much talk of penises (penii? well, it's only one penis...) and sex. Three [community profile] fic_promptly fills; prompts are given after the ficlet.

Disclaimer: They all belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy. Woes!

[fic] Mag7; A Letter Home

I wrote about 1000 words of this fic at work one day, longhand, while I should have been working on actual work. I finished it that night, then let it sit around... because I edited it a couple days later, and somehow managed to delete the file with the edits. (Yes, I know how I managed that - I'm a twit.) I think I've made all of the edits - again - that I planned to make.

Title: A Letter Home
Characters/Pairing: Ezra (Chris/Ezra implied)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Epsitle format (because that's how the words came, damnit); mentions of alcohol abuse, angst and more angst. *hint* Complete mangling of Ezra-speak. Please see end for further blathering Notes.
Summary: Ezra's late night letter to Chris.

Disclaimer: The characters herein belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy, not me.

[fic] Mag7; Crossing the Rubicon

This is a [community profile] fic_promptly prompt that grew completely out of control (7 pages?? Dear Lord!). Hence, I post it here as a fic, headings and all, separate from other [community profile] fic_promptly prompts I may have done.

Title: Crossing the Rubicon
Characters/Pairing: Vin; Chris/Ezra, Buck
Rating: R
Warnings: Alcohol abuse, gunfight violence, blood and the one I always hate to give, but must - character death. (Notes given at the end.)
Summary:

Disclaimer: They all belong to MGM, Mirisch and Trilogy, not me.
